Wow! October was a month full of fantastic fun for our third graders! The first quarter of the school year has come and gone and we have been very busy learning and having fun! We had a wonderful time at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts as we enjoyed the play "Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters". The students were treated to all the history, culture, and geography of the African nation of Zimbabwe as they followed the tale of these two daughters. This story is a variant of Cinderella complete with a king looking for the fairest in the land to become his wife. We also celebrated the continent of Europe through our Multicultural Literacy Night. Presentations included Fairy Tales, which originated in the country of Germany, as well as projects representing the inventors of Germany, exploring the luck of Ireland. Student and parents took a Kahoot quiz to show what you know about Italy, and a stroll through a Spanish museum. Our Annual Storybook Character Parade was an awesome success. The students had great fun dressing up as their favorite characters. We are looking forward to the first quarter report cards. This is a time for you to review your child's accomplishments and discuss goals for the second quarter. We encourage you to read each night with your child to help them build stamina and work toward their AR goals for the 2nd quarter.
